The glory is gone...or at least shorter

After much stomping, pouting, whining and begging Tiffany tried to convince...or demand that Mike cut off his long locks. After all, Shannon and Jillian's wedding is coming and it only makes sense to not go looking like Shannon hired a wookie to stand by him in a tux.

So with just as much stomping, pouting and whining Mike went a few days ago and chopped off his "glorious hair." I'm sure it was painful, but he managed and came out looking like the man I married. Don't worry, someone took some before and after pictures so we can remember the....glory.

"If everyone had my hair the world would be a better place. There would be no wars or fighting. Everyone would just sit around and comb each others hair." Michael Freeman

I guess world peace will just have to wait....

Cupcakes!

Mike came home a little early yesterday, so since he was here to watch Avie, Haven and mom decided to make cupcakes. Haven has never helped before. We got him a chair and mom measured everything out so he could dump it in the bowl. As soon as we got the cake mix in he grabbed a spatula and got right to it! We had to tell him we still needed to add some stuff. Once everything was added we started the mixer and Haven loves to see the mixer "go". We made red velvet cupcakes with butter cream frosting and sprinkles. Yum! Haven helped spoon the batter into the cupcakes and helped with the sprinkles. He loved the finished product as much as the batter. Maybe today he can take some to our neighbors....hopefully he's in the sharing mood.

Update on the kiddos!

This week Avie started pulling herself up and standing with the help of...anything near her. She even tried letting go to see how long she could stand alone. Turns out it wasn't long, but she keeps trying!

Haven surprised mom when he went down a big slide by himself for the first time. He was extremely pleased with himself and gave himself an encouraging "yay!" and applause. That's our boy...or more specifically...Mike's boy. ;)

He did have a little trouble getting to the slide....

Haven is also learning how to play "This little piggy" and he likes to use Avie's toes to practice...

Painting!

Mike and Tiff have been busy on the weekends painting. For Avie's room we painted a wooden shelf and for Haven's room we painted a dresser to go with his new bed. This is our first furniture painting project. They both turned out pretty good. We hope Haven will like his new dresser enough that he wont be bothered when we move his nursery furniture into Avie's room!
