Ready, Set...Jump!

After a lot of prayer and consideration Mike and I have decided to start a Christian Production Company. We will be partnering with long time friends, Kevin and Lillian under the name Emerald Productions. We have a long, busy road ahead of us as we prepare to market ourselves to churches and religious organizations. We will be providing production services to churches that want customized visual media as well as writing and producing our own short films to sell as ministry tools. We also will be pursuing the production of feature length films to minister to the mainstream. We very much believe this is the path God wants us to take, so we are surprisingly at peace even though Mike's last day at a job with steady income will be May 6th. We ask our friends and family to pray for us during this transition. Right now there is a long list of things to do and a lot more questions than answers, but we are very excited!

Easter Eggs!

For the first time Haven colored easter eggs. His said his favorite eggs were the purple ones. We even managed to do it without getting die everywhere! We did break an egg...or two.

Cozy Cows!

A few weekends ago we went to Cozy Cow farm in Greeley with Grandpa Spain. We got to see them milk several cows and we saw other animals too. Haven and Avie fed some goats. Avie thought it was a little gross, but Haven loved it. We bought some fresh chocolate milk and took home some delicious steaks. We spend the rest of the day with Grandpa Spain. What a fun weekend!

Snow Day!

We woke up to a little snow this morning and a little snow turned into a LOT of snow. Mike was already at work, but everything was closing down for the blizzard. He caught a bus home...or so he thought but ended up over a mile away. So I tried to get him and got the car stuck. Mike walked all the way home in a blizzard. When he arrived I was still trying to dig the car out. He had ice on his goatee and eye brows. It was a sad sight. So we had soup and then did the most logical thing. Got bundled up again and took the kids outside to enjoy the snow. It didn't take Avie long to decide she is a warm weather girl. Haven on the other hand nearly got lost in the drifts. We had a good time for about 7 minutes before it was too cold to enjoy any longer and we came inside for hot chocolate. Yay for snow days!

Updates!

Avie recently had her 15 month check up. She weighs 17 lbs and 9 oz. She is in the 3rd percentile. Which means she is tea tiny. But otherwise super healthy. She is saying many new words and has finally gotten the courage to go down the stairs all by herself by slowly climbing down backwards. Her favorite things lately include carrying around and loving on her dolls and irritating Haven. It is actually kind of impressive how good she has become at that.

She has also had a her first bowl of spaghetti and her first ice cream cone. Both of which she loved.

This past Saturday we took a family trip to the ZOO. Haven and Avie both loved it. Avie seemed pretty impressed with the birds. Haven really liked the Hyenas and the monkeys. Everyone was pretty exhausted when we left and Avie fell asleep as soon as we got her in the car.

It doesn't get any better than this.

We've have completely enjoyed our kids this week. In the midst of busy schedules and stress with midterms, shoots and life we can relax as a family and remember it is all about this. We've made time each night after dinner to go upstairs and play until bed time. It's been time very well spent. We've also taught Haven a prayer. "Dear God, Thank you for my family. I love you. Amen." He bounces around while he says it. ;)

Has anyone seen Avie?

Cheers!
